I'm so excited to be working with you and I can’t wait to get to know you better! I absolutely love lifestyle sessions and can't wait to plan yours! This guide will go over everything from outfit ideas, picking a location, and how to prepare!
There are tons of different reasons to do a lifestyle session. Lifestyle sessions include engagements, families, maternity, couples, anniversary, and at home sessions. If you know you want to book something but have no idea where to start, this guide will help!
I will help you create a clear vision for your lifestyle session. We will come up with the perfect outfit, perfect location, and have fun while shooting! Can't wait to plan with you!

There is nothing more authentic than an at home session. Let's cuddle up on the couch or photograph your family making pancakes! What's more precious than a newborn in their room with their family? Let's read a book together or even build a pillow fort! I love getting to see my clients in the space they are most comfortable. At home.

why should you book a
I want to be with my clients every step of the way. My style of photography is very laid back and authentic. I want to capture the real you, doing things you love to do. Don't worry too much about the perfect location or the perfect outfit. Focus more on the genuine emotions.
Not going to lie, I tend to be an emotional photographer. The moments that other artists might not see are the moments that take my breath away. I live for the little moments. The ones that might seem like nothing today but feel like everything tomorrow.
The hand holding, your children giggling, the little toes, or the way you touch your baby in your tummy. When life passes, so do these moments. It's so important to me to capture them because once they are gone, they are gone.
A lifestyle session is any session that depicts your lifestyle in the most authentic way. a family. an expectant mom. a couple in love. a high school senior. there are so many reasons to book a lifestyle session.
Family is everything to me. Cherishing and capturing all of the special moments are the reason I do what I do. Seeing my clients create albums that they will share for generations to come is such an amazing feeling. It truly means the world to me.
I'll never forget sitting on my grandmother's lap, looking through old photo albums. The sound of her voice telling me the stories of her past. The look in her eyes as she relived those memories with a huge smile on her face and a sense of longing in her heart.
When we get older, the only thing we will leave behind are our memories and our photographs. Make sure to leave good ones!
When it comes to outfits, coordinating is much better than matching. I know we all used to think everyone in jeans and a white top was cute. It's much cuter nowadays to have everyone in the same color palette but all with their own style.

OUTFITS
A good rule of thumb is sticking to a neutral color palette and then adding in one pop color. Some neutrals would be jeans, khakis, black, grey, and white. A pop color could be yellow, burgundy, or even pink.
You can also add some variety with a pattern. If you're a couple, I would only have one person with a pattern. If it's a family, maybe just Mom and Daughter in a floral pattern. Patterns include florals, stripes, and checkers to name a few.
Some stores that are great for families are Target, Old Navy, Gap, and H&M. It's a one stop shop and a lot of the time they have very similar outfits for each size. I'm all for making the process as simple as possible.

I absolutely adore photographing expecting moms. There is something so magical and beautiful knowing that you'll show your children these photos when they grow up.
We can photograph maternity sessions at my studio, outdoors, at in your home.

Don't let the thought of choosing a location stress you out. There are so many to choose from and every location has unique photo opportunities. Pick a location that has special meaning to you. A beach that your family always goes to or a local park you hike at.
Make sure to choose outfits that fit with the season and location you choose. Feel free to have fun with location ideas! I have been dying to photograph a couple at a carnival or a family at a Farmer's Market! Be true to who you are.

I know that a lifestyle session is an investment for everyone, which is why I do as much as I can to make the most out of your session. If we do a little planning ahead of time, it will make sure we are on the right track!
Everyone is different and every lifestyle is different which is why I take the time to get to know you! Having a hands on approach is always my goal.

WHETHER YOU'RE PLANNING A MINI SESSION OR A YEAR OF SESSIONS, IT IS BEST TO PLAN AHEAD. YOU WILL SAVE TONS OF TIME AND ENERGY IF YOU FOLLOW SOME OF MY STEPS BELOW!
Planning a location should be the easiest part about planning your lifestyle session. Pick a place that means something to you! Think about where you will these photos and what style you're going for!
Please choose a location with lots of natural light. You chose me for my style of photography and I adore natural light. If we are doing an outdoor session, sunrise and sunset are the best times to shoot. Indoor has more options but pay attention to the light in your home during the hours you want to shoot.
1. pick your location
If you plan to have these photos framed and hung on your walls, take a little look around. What colors are the room they will be in? Is there an earthy feel to room? Do you have beach vibes? Or are you a complete hipster? Choosing colors that match the room will help for a cohesive feel.
Choosing a color palette beforehand will also help you with choosing your outfits, props, and styling pieces. Your color palette should match the mood and feel of the location as well as the room the photos will be hung! We also want to choose colors that go well together! Think neutrals with a pop color!
2. choose a color palette that works for the location
Now that you have your color palette and location, it shouldn't be too hard to choose your outfits! Doing an at home session? Think loungewear or ripped jeans. Are we going to the beach? Think sandals and flowy dresses! You could even bring a swimsuit to jump in the water at the end!
Iron each outfit and keep them hung. Place styling objects together in an easy to carry box or bag. If we are doing a hike or might have a lot of walking in between locations, bring a pair of sneakers or flip flops! Try everything on beforehand to make sure it's comfortable, it fits, and it's flattering on you. There is nothing worse than trying on the day of your session and hating the outfit!
3. Pick your outfits and do a runway walk
If you're looking for an indoor location, feel free to utilized our studio, The Loft. It is located in the heart of downtown Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
The Loft is a newly renovated warehouse with the most amazing natural light! It has a bed setup, oversized mirror, kitchenette, sofa, backdrop system, boho chair, and a workspace table. The style in the studio is always white, neutral, and cozy.

The studio setup does change once or twice a year, feel free to send me a message if you want to see what the current space looks like.
The studio is furnished but if you have an idea in mind, we are always willing to empty the studio to bring in a completely new setup for event planners, fitness instructors, or any other brand that has their own setup!
We love to collab on workshops, and networking events!
We do offer on location sessions as well! If you want to showcase your business, book a hotel, rent an airbnb, or have us come to your home that can be arranged. A travel fee may be applied based on location!
